The Dr Plumb 6mm filtered range are a more traditional shaped and sized Briar pipe, which are designed for use with the thinner, disposable, 6mm absorbent filters. The length of the stem and good thick briar wall helps prevent over heating therefore providing a cooler more enjoyable smoke, which isn't found with smaller pipes.

The Dr Plumbs 6mm Pipes are designed for use with the Dr Plumbs 6mm filters, which built up of an array of absorbent flaps. These spiral through the filter forcing the smoke to spiral touching as much surface area as possible to absorb the maximum amount of tar without restricting the draw.
No mess no fuss, simply throw the filter in the bin when it turns a dark brown colour.
The pipes have a standard 6mm bore so can be used with any brand of 6mm filter if preferred. Alternatively the filter can be removed all together for smokers who prefer a totally un-restricted full on smoke.

This allows the heel of the bowl and the bowl itself to develop an even, protective carbon coating which will extend the life of your pipe. Over time, carbon will build up on the inside of the bowl.
